Computer & Communication Center will no longer provide software CD from 1st Sept. 2018.

(一)Reasons

The technical advance in network transmission makes it easier for people to download software.
CD player is no longer a standard equipment for the computer.
CDs are vulnerable and eco-unfriendly parts.
Campus authorized software downloading system which was set up by CCC in 2008 has become a main channel for teachers and students to have access to campus authorized software.
The revised version of campus authorized software webpage which was completed in Sept. 2017, providing more humanized downloading interface of software for easy to use.

(二)Expected performance

It only needs to operate the software downloading system and manage the private computer for software.
Reduce the cost of purchasing the CDs, CD case and peripherals.
No CDs loss problem and default risk due to loss.
Energy saving and environmental protection, no discard CDs problem.
Users don’t need to go for borrowing and returning the CDs.
Don’t need to stack CDs so that the space of office can be use fully utilized.

Q1. How to install the campus license Windows without CDs?

A large amount of Campus authorized software is upgraded version, which only can be upgraded in the computers of legal completed operating system. Please download it from downloading system or taking your USB to acquire Campus authorized software in the computers in Users’ Service Area. You can execute the program in the computers with completed version of legal operating system. You can upgrade it without CDs.

Q2.Why do the school need to purchase the updated version of Windows ?

Microsoft Volume Licensing Campus Software is an upgraded version, and the advantage is that the price is more affordable and meet the current situation in the school. If you purchase other versions of Windows depending on the amount used in the school, the purchase amount will be far beyond what the school can afford.

Q3. It only needs to enter the serial number when installed the Windows before. Can CCC provide the serial number again ?

Since the large number of authorized software of the school after Windows 7 is verified by KMS, the installation serial number is no longer provided.

Q4. Now it is required to have a legal complete operating system in the computer in order to upgrade to a large number of authorized software in the school. Is it not the same as before?

The large number of authorized software in the school is an upgraded version. This is Microsoft's consistent sales policy and has not changed.

Q5.It really needs the windows software CD.

You can burn the software CDs by yourself by downloading the campus authorized software from downloading system or take the USB to obtain it in the computers in Users’ Service Area. (ISO format is provided by Windows), please find here about software CDs burned by ISO file for your reference.

Q6.You cannot access the Internet so as not to use the software downloading system.

Q7.It is difficult to use the software downloading system out of school.

You can use it through VPN. The campus authorized software is only available for the computers in the school's network segment. However, for the convenience of staff and students who can download it out of school, it is permitted for them to download just through VPN to confirm that they are the users in the range of authorization.

Q8.Not familiarize with the operation of the software downloading system.

Q9. Without purchasing OEM version of Windows or operating system when buying a computer, how to legally install the large amount of Campus authorized software?

Please purchase the complete operating system of the OEM version or FPP version first, and then upgrade to the large amount of Campus authorized software. Please note that if the computer is changed for motherboard, the authorized software of OEM version or FPP version will also be terminated, and cannot be transferred and installed to other computers. Therefore, when purchasing a new computer, be sure to purchase a computer that contains a legal complete operating system.
